Chana Orloff workshop - Auguste Perret

The agency rotunno justman is currently working on a new scenography of the museum workshop built by Auguste Perret !

The Chana Orloff Workshops-Museum, with the support of the Ministry of Culture and the Town Hall of the 14th century, organizes an exhibition of sculptures by Chana Orloff, major woman-artist of the 20th century, in the dead end of the Villa Seurat, where she lived and worked. This event, which will take place on 11, 12, 13 and 18, 19 and 20 September 2020, is part of the event «Raising our Eyes», on 18 September and the European Heritage Days, on 19 and 20 September. Built by Auguste Perret in 1926, this house-workshop in reinforced concrete, favouring volumes and light, is a modernist setting that allows to grasp the very special place held by the sculptor in the history of the Parisian avant-garde.

Site visit of our project of raising. The wood frame is clad with burnt wood siding:

Yakisugi (焼 き 杉?, literally roasted cedar or burnt cedar) is a wood protection technique native to Japan. It is obtained by burning deeply the surface of a wooden board. The resulting material is considered to be more resistant to fire, insects and fungi.

Find us in our new offices at 41 rue du temple in the 4th arrondissement. Inauguration scheduled for October!
