In a context of overexposure to multiple natural risks, the town of Prêcheur engaged very early on in a strategy of spatial reconstruction of its town with the performance of housing operations likely to be attractive for families located on the one hand in areas exposed to the risk of lahars and on the other hand, in areas exposed to risk of rapid marine submersion. The objective of our intervention relates to the relocation of 27 dwellings.

FOR A SOCIAL ARCHITECTURE

The architectural and technical project of each building - layout, facades, roof and 1st floor plan - is defined; the realization of the ground floor is free to the appropriation of the inhabitants, leaving the possibility for multiple uses. These spaces in self-construction will generate economic and social activities.

VARIANTS OF USES ON THE GROUND FLOOR

The inhabitants appropriate their ground floor with the freedom to use the materials, the colors characteristic of the town of Le Prêcheur, the old doors and windows. They participate in the design of the place which they adapt to uses: sale of primary products in short circuit (market gardening, etc.), DIY workshops, fab-lab, meeting places, extra room ...
